Evesong (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Evesong mobile application and the website evesong.io (together, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service. By using Evesong, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you sign up for Evesong, we collect information through Google Sign-In, including your name, email address, and profile photo. We use this information to create and manage your account.

Household and Family Data

Evesong allows you to create a household and add family members. You may provide:

• Display names of household members
• Birthdays (optional, used for reminders and age-appropriate features)
• Profile photos or avatar preferences
• Member roles within the household

This information is stored securely and is only visible to members of your household.

Calendar and Schedule Data

When you create events, Evesong stores event titles, dates, times, locations, notes, recurrence rules, and assigned family members. This data is used to power your shared family calendar and AI-assisted scheduling features.

Task and List Data

We store to-do items, grocery lists, custom lists, and recipe data that you create. This includes item titles, descriptions, assigned owners, due dates, and completion status.

Financial Data

If you choose to connect a bank account, Evesong uses Plaid, Inc. to securely access your financial information. Through Plaid, we receive:

• Transaction history (merchant names, amounts, dates, categories)
• Recurring transaction patterns
• Account balances (used for budget calculations)

We do not receive or store your bank login credentials. Plaid handles authentication directly with your financial institution. Your financial data is used solely to provide budget tracking and spending insights within the app. For more information on how Plaid handles your data, please review Plaid’s Privacy Policy.

Location Data

When you add locations to events or your household profile, we use the Google Places API to provide location search and autocomplete. Google may receive your search queries to return results. We store the selected location name and address with your events. We do not track your real-time location or collect GPS data in the background.

AI-Processed Data

Evesong uses Anthropic’s Claude AI to power features including daily briefings, natural-language event and task creation, recipe suggestions, and chat-based assistance. When you interact with AI features, we send relevant context to Anthropic’s API, which may include:

• Your current schedule and upcoming events
• Task and list information
• Budget summaries and spending categories
• Your household member names and your location (city level)
• Your chat messages and questions

Anthropic processes this data to generate responses and does not use your data to train their models. Anthropic’s data retention and privacy practices are governed by Anthropic’s Privacy Policy.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and maintain the Service
• Personalize your experience (AI briefings, smart suggestions)
• Sync data in real time across household members
• Generate budget insights and spending summaries
• Send you notifications about events, tasks, and reminders you configure
• Improve and develop new features
• Respond to your support requests

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in the following circumstances:

• Within your household: Data you create (events, tasks, lists, budget) is shared with other members of your household.
• Service providers: We use third-party services to operate Evesong, including Supabase (database and authentication), Anthropic (AI processing), Plaid (financial data), and Google (authentication and location services). These providers access your data only to perform services on our behalf.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to valid legal process.

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:

• Encryption in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest
• Row-level security policies on our database ensuring household data isolation
• Secure authentication through Google OAuth 2.0
• Regular security reviews of our infrastructure

No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal obligations. Financial transaction data received through Plaid is retained only while your bank connection is active.

Children’s Privacy

Evesong is designed for families and may store children’s names and birthdays as provided by parents or guardians. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. All child data is entered and managed by the parent or guardian who administers the household. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without parental consent, please contact us so we can remove it.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Export your data in a portable format
• Withdraw consent for optional data processing
